'You Can Handle the Truth: Mobile Employees and Equity Awards'
Lunch provided complements of Deloitte Tax
Mobile employees live and work at the intersection between entities and jurisdictions, creating challenges, and adding cost as employers do their best to manage the technical and administrative requirements. This session will provide an overview of the challenges associated with offering equity awards including stock options and restricted stock/units to globally mobile employees. We will address various issues including tax equalization policies for expatriates and trailing liabilities, multi-jurisdictional taxation, payroll, participant education as well as a practical discussion on the issues associated with tracking this population and what companies can do to ensure compliance with the increasingly changing reporting and withholding rules.
