We are delighted that the Forum for Expatriate Management (FEM) New York Chapter, run by Living Abroad LLC and hosted by KPMG LLP will be holding their fifth meeting on Febuary 4, 2010. We are confident that the FEM monthly networking meetings are now growing to be the preeminent event in New York for all Global Mobility professionals.

Selection and Critical Talent Development in Economically Troubled Times

In today's tenuous economic environment, it's more critical now than ever before to make well-informed strategic hiring decisions.

As corporations face ever-increasing budget cuts executed with the utmost scrutiny, and while costs of relocations continue to escalate, candidate selection technology is an available and highly effective HR tool for managing costs and maximizing the success of international assignments.

In fact, research shows that all of the factors and conditions contributing to success and risk in global assignments can be identified before an assignment is even undertaken.

The presentation will lead a discussion how Human Resources can best leverage relationships with outsourcing providers, in partnership with hiring managers, with candidate assessment processes for expatriate selection and global talent development.

An industry expert in selection system compliance and talent development will present the best practices in candidate selection, the validity of the various assessment tools, and how these should support organizational learning.   Included will be the results of Selection Research International, Inc. (SRI) original research and accumulated experience with a significant amount of time devoted to Q & A.  There will be an emphasis on how to create a global mobility policy that truly supports a company’s global talent management system.

About the presenter, Barry Kozloff: SRI has been in the business of screening candidates for international assignments for over 30 years. Barry has been president of SRI since 1982 and has worked in selection, management development, and counseling at McDonnell-Douglas, AT&T Technologies, Mericom (Teheran, Iran), Emerson Aerospace and the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration.
